Welcome to International Mountain Equipment. IME is dedicated to providing the best selection of Rock Climbing, Ice Climbing, Expedition and Backpacking equipment in the United States. Over the years, IME catalogs have offered a variety of mini guides to climbing areas around the world, i.e. Nepal, Pakistan, Alaska, Peru, Aconcagua, and of course popular climbing areas in the U.S. as well. We will be bringing those back as part of this web site in the near future.
Our staff are climbers themselves, with a vast array of skiing, rock and ice climbing, first ascents and expeditions throughout the world to their credit. Rick Wilcox, President of IME, reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1991 and led an expedition to Gasherbrum II in the Himalayas of Pakistan in 1996. (Click here for Meet Rick Wilcox) With their high degree of skill and experience, they are always eager to provide information on climbing and skiing locally, answer questions and explain the products we sell. They will share other helpful hint from their own bag of tricks.
